The economic system of the World football is viable? (Yahoo)

Without any doubt, besides the World Championship of South Africa, 2010 will be a year of big changes of the economic situation of the football because the system does not seem to maintain with the present parameters of unlimited expenses for registrations, hotels and a very lavish life, but that not always receives incomes from the great majority of clubs that corresponds to same.

The record of 103 millions of Euros in red as final balance in the cash of Manchester City corresponding to the exercise 2008/09, salved only because they are managed by a multimillionaire Arabian sheik, is a proof of what is happening in the European clubs, so much as the same person, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, belonging to the royal family of Abu Dhabi, offered a small sum of billion Euros to remain with the Real Madrid, which from its foundation was a civil association for sport aims.

Besides that the offer was refused by the White directives and its president Florentino Perez at the head, the Real Madrid was precisely one of the clubs, together with the City, that wasted more in this exercise in registrations of players with more than three hundred million Euros to get the transference of Kaká, Cristiano Ronaldo or Benzema, what has been strongly criticized by UEFA president, the French ex footballist Michel Platini who is in charge to always recall that football needs urgently to low expenses.

Platini did not even considered using the diplomacy when he stated that the Real Madrid’s procedure was “indecent” and he ratified through microphone in spite that he shared the platform with Florentino Pérez, though the White directives reiterates that as it occurred between 2000 and 2004, will recover the investment with the pass of the months thanks to a fine work of marketing of their products based on the sport successes and the synergy that generate the contracted star-players and when there is already the chance to contract others as the French Frank Ribery from the Bayern Munich

The absolute of red record in an exercise of annual balance for a football club continues in Chelsea that in the season 2004/05 had a loss of 156 millions Euros.

However, what seemed amazing with the Chelsea and their recently arrived the Russian magnate Román Abramovich, now has trespassed the majority of the clubs with aspirations of titles and some even intermedium taking note that they cannot compete without tending to approximate to the highest level of the Premier League.

The result surprises with the 3526 millions of Pounds Sterling of total red in the sums of the balances of the clubs of the English maximum competition (3900 millions Euros) and when the sum of the total of assets is of 3384 millions Pounds Sterling (3742 millions Euros) according to the report “Fútbol & Finanzas: la Economía de la Premier League 2007/08”, elaborated by a chief professor of Financial Economy of the Barcelona University, José María Gay de Liébana.

According to this report the debt of the twenty English clubs increased 24,1 percent in only one year and when even the 25,3 percent of the incomes comes from the sale of the subscriptions and the entrance of the social installments, meanwhile the marketing continues contributing only the 16,8 percent of these total incomes.

Many of the top players of the Premier League and their representatives even more, have already specialized in the reading of the principal economic-financial newspapers of the World to study the enormous debts that the English clubs have with the Banks, and in many cases, already see with good eyes the possibility to emigrate in spite that everything that is being sold are roses but, where to go?

If the Premier League is sustained by the contribution of the Russian of United States magnates or of the Arabian Sheiks who refills the loses of their well provided check-books, the Spanish League, the other strong competitions of the World, closed its season with a total red of 3444 millions Euros, a 26,3 per cent more than in former season.

In Spain there debates under an open sky the possibility to increase the tax for all the foreign residents who receive more than 600.000 Euros per annum what would concern almost all of the stars who would have to look for other markets, when leagues as the Italian find lowering, or the German studies a tax similar to that of Spain or even worse, French and Dutch.

Far away of the above, Africa and Latin America continue thinking about a football of television and marketing consume of the First World to continue selling their players at high price each time the younger ones, meanwhile the Europeans nationalize the more experienced foreigners thus to make space for those recently arrived due to the quota, or they take the youngest thanks to the exercise of the Parental Authority, though afterwards they make them appear as from their own quarry.

Not even so, at least in South America this scheme is useful. When those countries should pass for their best institutional moment thanks to the export and strong currency that gives more at local level, the red is very strong and without magnates (some exceptions such as the company associated with Corinthians of Brazil) and the bankruptcy risks are even higher.

Everything indicates that the start of FIFA’s Project of “6+5” (6 local footballists and five foreigners per team, as maximum) could give some solution. Of course if they do not use a habitual trap.
