A final of Champions between Real Madrid and Barcelona is not any more a dream (Yahoo)

After having been played two of the six rounds of the first phase of the European Champions League, there are not many doubts and the possibility only dreamed months ago that the Real Madrid and Barcelona collide in a possible final in May next in the Stadium Santiago Bernabeu is being taken as something real.

In fact, though there is a considerable time to May and everything may happen, it is clear that two of the teams that appear in the European stage with major solidity are the two great Spanish clubs, which due the players, history and results, are among the maximum candidates to win the European trophy.

But he idea is not based only on the results up to the moment, but to the lack of possible rivals entering in the cross of the eight-finals. The Inter, another of the big European clubs with excellent group and a competitive coach as the Portuguese Jose Mourinho, is still without being able to show in Champions their real value, something the uses to occur traditionally and continues to impede their international projection in spite of having a clear and absolute dominion of the calcio.

If the defensive team of Mourinho at home in the San Siro vs the Barcelona surprised, it was not much different the fact that the Italian team have no players of their country vs the most modest and inexperienced in European contests, Rubin Kazan, that complicated them a lot and almost ends winning.

On their side, the Milan does not find their foot (in this case, in all the competitions) and since the sale of Kaka to the Real Madrid they had not found a scheme nor players to guide the team towards the passed successes, and the Brazilian coach, Leonardo, is under being substituted by the ex player of the redblack, the Dutch Marco Van Basten.

This situation of the Inter and the Milan facilitated enormously the performance of the Barcelona and the Real Madrid in their groups where they are relatively at ease and leaving the idea that they have no rivals of importance, with the exception of the English, that also start to lead in their groups and perhaps the powerful Bayern Munich and someone that may do something is the renewed Juventus, but there is not much more in view.

The Barcelona, even winning 2-0 vs Dínamo of Kiev, continues showing a certain deficit in ending their attacks, in comparison with the passed season, where their goal efficiency was superior, but it should be also accepted that the Swede Zlotan Ibrahimovic, a potent player of great technique but very different to the goaler of Cameroon Samuel Eto’o, is still readapting himself.

Adding to this the long absence of Andrés Iniesta, who still did not find the way in his return, that the left extreme Thierry Henry suffered reiterated injuries and the big star Lionel Messi has a certain sad air for the bad performance of the Argentinean team that puts in risk the participation in the World Championship 2010, those are also facts to be taken into account, and even so, the Barcelona has no goals against and imposes an absolute superiority on its rivals in the territorial dominion and in the control of the ball.

On its side, the Real Madrid continues not being an homogenous team and as their exceptional goalkeeper, Iker Casillas says, they continue with errors of beginners in defense, but it is also clear that they need few minutes to beat any adversary due to the enormous quality of their forwarders and that happened vs the Zurich and against the Olympique of Marseille, that they made an excellent planning but even so, the result was 3-0 against Madrid.

The eight goals in two matches of the Real Madrid, show clearly that without playing well and with a team more prepared to counter-hit than to attack, they win in any way easily.

For that reason we say that a final between the two big clubs of Spain does not seem a chimera and would give to this Champions plus of impact, specially because the final of this year is foreseen nothing less but in the stadium Santiago Bernabeu, and because the Barcelona is the Champion in force.

Such final can occur? Will it be as the local media say that the Real Madrid is eleven matches from the glory? Time will decide.
